alternative view of activism that will be explored and promoted at Concordia U

U's Loyola Campus from June 11-16.

The conference "Developing Civil Society Through Community Action" is expected t

to attract over 1,000 participants from around the world, who will attend 105 t

talks and workshops, including "Uncovering racial dimensions of public policy" a

and "Quebec and Chile: two experiences of democratic participation by youth."

The biggest event will be a panel discussion on community action on Monday, J

June 12, chaired by Gérald Larose, former president of the union f

federation the CSN. Keynote speakers at this talk will be Marilyn Taylor, a p

professor of Social Policy at the University of Brighton, U.K., and UQÀM s
