Far away, so close
by MARITES CARINO
This week at L'Agora de la danse, two leaders in the contemporary dance scene, from near and far, join creative forces. Loin, Très Loin is a solo work by local choreographer Paul-André Fortier created for modern dancer Peggy Baker. The two have a lot in common. For example, their careers have concentrated on the creation of solo works, and both have been influenced by theatre through their studies. Having collaborated in the past, the two choreographer/dancers are working together again along with composer Gaeétan Leboeuf.
This Friday, as part of the Danse et littérature series, writers Jean-Paul Daoust,
Wilbrod-Michel Bujold, Bernadette Renaud and Annie Molin Vasseur will join in
the action and create literature, taking inspiration from the show and then share
it with the public.
Loin, Très Loin at L'Agora de la danse, 840 Cherrier E., May 25-27, 8 p.m., $12-20. :
