Zoom squared equals pee floor?

>>

Since February, a new breed of advertising has cropped up in the bathrooms of various bars around Montreal--an enhancement of the well-known Zoom media boards. Positioned above urinals for pissing perusal, the new Export "A" video boards titillate the viewer with a 45-second video ad complete with sound.

"So far reaction has been great. All comments have been very positive," says Michael Reha, V.P. for the Toronto-based company NewAd which sells the boards.

But less appreciative voices were heard outside NewAd's marketing department. When the Mirror did an informal survey of patrons at the China Club, which boasts one of the video boards, reactions varied from "Yeah, big deal!" to "Hey! The ladies' room is down the hall."

And activist Phil Ilijevski from the Canadian Federation of Students--which opposed Zoom boards in local campus bathrooms--says, "Like all things, the novelty will wear off and it will just be one more thing to clog up public space."

Not to mention the dangers of motion sickness, or of urinators being distracted from job one with possibly messy results. :
