Spring's young things


This week Espace Tangente holds its émergence series, which opens its stage to young choreographers. In the spotlight is Danse Carpe Diem, a creative group of six choreographers and dancers. Starting off the evening is a sextet for women called 3 Centauromachia 4 by Emmanuel Jouthe, a founding member of Danse Carpe Diem. This piece explores the different sides of femininity.

Another Danse Carpe Diem member, Marie-Julie Asselin, stages her work for two women, Les Beltanes which focuses on relationships against an eclectic musical backdrop. See them both April 27-29, 8:30 p.m. and April 30, 7:30 p.m., $10-12 at Tangente, 840 Cherrier.

And now that spring has sprung, don't miss Les Printemps de la danse, which features four choreographies by young creators, at your local Maison de la Culture.
