Prancing peacocks
It all began one October 31st when dancer Audrey Lehouillier decided to dress up as a peacock for a Halloween costume party. So, to create this getup, she constructed a belt made of peacock feathers to mimic the proud bird's plumage. "I just started dancing with it and I was so inspired," Lehouillier explains. And thus was born Vous avez une plume de paon monsieur?
In this dreamlike quartet for three male dancers and herself, Lehouillier "explores the peacock in all of us," on a voyage through different faraway worlds.
Also on the evening's program is a work by young choreographer Marie-Pascale Belanger entitled Le Bal maudit, which pokes fun at the dormant monsters that dwell within the human psyche. Le Bal maudit and Vous avez une plume de paon monsieur? April 13-15, 8 p.m. and April 16, 7:30 p.m. at Tangente (840 Cherrier), $10-12. :
