Winter weirdness

After dancing with Ginette Laurin's company O Vertigo for five years, and working with choreographer Jean-Pierre Perrault on numerous productions, New Brunswick native Nathalie Morin decided to say goodbye to choreographers and become one herself. Like Perrault, Morin's creations are often inspired by her own artwork. And the results are quirky theatrical productions.

Her fifth creation, Some Strange Winters/D'Etranges hivers, is a fantastical dance for five performers--Lucie Boissinot, Christine Charles, Elinor Fueter, Sylvain Poirier and Mark Shaub. In this mysterious world, Morin assembles an eccentric cast of characters against a colourful backdrop. The costumes are created by Yvon Gallant, also from New Brunswick, with whom Morin has worked since her choreographic beginnings. --Marites Carino

At L'Agora de la danse, March 23-25 and March 30 to April 1 at 8 p.m., $12-20.
