Angel >> Paul Martin's budget $90 million to protect endangered species $210 million to meet Canada's environmental requirements under the Kyoto protocol. $100 million for municipal enviro-projects like renewable energy and mass transit. More UI benefits for parental leave, no tax on your first $3,000 of scholarships, bursaries or fellowships. A one-time $2.5-billion bonus for health care. And the only "bracket creeps" left in the country are Ottawa's bean-counters. Insect >> Paul Martin's budget A tax break that's measly at best for most people. Not enough money for a health care system in catastrophe. Very little money for the poor. A reduced corporate tax at a time when corporations are more profitable than ever. The number sounds so big you'd think you hit the jackpot--until you finally realize that it only puts an extra $75 in your pocket.
