The design Swedes at instant-furnishing mecca Ikea are trying to go a little less lily white, with their new multi-culti Make Room for Living campaign. The company invited a crew of designers from around the world to decorate a small (232 sq. ft) boxcar, using the priorities of homes in their culture. Topping the list for "Italy: Family Espresso," for instance, are "eating, meeting, making love." Other cultures also culled for ideas are Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, North America and Sweden (summarized by "kick off your shoes and come in").
