Crime time: While the Crime Is Blazing, a collection of paintings and drawings by New Yorker Leon Golub, portrays the dark side of modern life with tough, rich imagery. At the Saidye Bronfman Centre to March 5; 739-2301.

* Girl on film: Oboro gallery presents Venus... I see blue, an exhibit by Montreal photographer Lynne Marsh, which examines women in media. Marsh, who stars in her shots as a character based on videogame heroines, offers a unique barrage of trash culture. At 4001 Berri to Feb. 13 (844-3250).

* Family Gay Night: The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Two Spirited Initiative of the McGill School of Social Work presents Love Makes a Family: Living in Gay and Lesbian Families.
