Angel >> The flu vaccine, for cheap The millennium influenza panic is reaching fever pitch. But according to public health authorities, this year's flu virus (Sydney A) is the same one that's been going around for three years. So if you've had the flu within the last three years, chances are you're already immune and don't need the vaccine. If not, you can get vaccinated at over 900 different locations on the island of Montreal--call your doctor to find out where to go. It will cost you around $15 to $20. Best deal: the Plateau CLSC at 30 St-Joseph E. will vaccinate you for $10. Call them first: 845-4240. Insect >> Club Med, smack in the heart of downtown Funny thing: 1999 saw record attendance at movie theatres, but our city's grand old cinema houses are still being sold off and recycled for other purposes. The Loews theatre, built in 1917, has been purchased by Club Med; speculation suggests they will turn it into something with restaurants, bars and eclectic performance spaces. And if it's anything like other Club Med operations, it will also be overrun with antiseptically happy employees, bad music and a total absence of originality. All right in the middle of downtown. When they sing "Hands up!", they really mean "Surrender!"
