Noisemakers 2000: She got flow

Donna Graziani doesn't have a whole lot of time to waste. "I have almost no time to write lyrics," she explains. "My day job doesn't really allow for it."
But despite licking off crazy haywire hours for a Montreal production company that makes commercials, this young rapper still managed to squeeze in time to rip a few mics this year--you may have seen her performing with a bunch of other locals at the Swollen Members show.
"It's the most direct way of saying what I have to say," says Dee, also known as V'da on the cypher circuit. Although she only started rapping about three years ago, she already has a tight French flow that's probably gonna blow. She also kicks it in Italian for all the Gambinos chillin' in the back.
Forget she's a she, because it ain't got shit to do. When you get on the mic, you either have it or you don't and V'da definitely has something. "I've never really had any problems because I was a girl, and most MCs I've dealt with have been pretty cool with me," she says. Having recorded on the Ill Mentals compilation earlier this year, Dee is ready to move on to bigger and better beats. "I know that I can do way better than that. I want to get a lot more done in the studio this year." With a recent hook-up with DJ Vincil from France waiting to pay off, it's safe to say that V'da is someone to check for in the next year. l
