They might be giants
by MARITES CARINO
Over at Tangente this weekend there's the Emergence series, which features artists on the rise. You'll have the chance to see the group Les P'tites Géantes along with Torontonian Lydia Wagerer.
Les P'tites Géantes is made up of two not-so-tall and not-so-small women, Sandra Parenteau and Nathalie Valiquette. The duo founded the collective seven years ago and what they've got in store for Tangente-goers this time is a choreography called Les deux machoires. The work, featuring seven dancers, was showcased at this year's international dance fest. It's divided into two parts and includes a section called Meet Market. Here, people meet and develop special forms of communication, with humour adding to the mix.
And then there's the ethereal Wagerer, who presents her celestial show Solos d'une autre planète.
Lydia Wagerer and Les P'tites Géantes at Tangente, Nov. 25-27 at 8:30 p.m. & Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m., $10-12. :
