Tinky Winky does Place Versailles: The notorious, ambiguously gay Teletubby greets kids and hands out back-to-school treats last Saturday while a distraught mother looks on. With Teletubbies in high demand, local costume shops are being hounded by the popular characters' copyright holders. "They won't extend copyright to anyone, and if they hear of any unsanctioned appearance they move in fast," says one local costumier. Officials at Place Versailles, however, insisted that this appearance was perfectly legal.
