angel Angel >> The Montreal Health Press, celebrating its 30th anniversary Back in 1968, when it was still illegal to disseminate information about birth control in Canada, a klatch of feminists formed the MHP and published the first Birth Control Handbook. They've marked their anniversary with a new edition of the Birth Control Handbook, complete with updated information on such things as Depo-Provera and the female condom. Also available: the Menopause, STD and Sexual Assault handbooks. Cost: $5 each. Info: 282-1171. Congrats.

insect Insect >> McGill University, honorary degree-granter to extremely wealthy people who could become very generous benefactors This year, McGill is giving an honorary degree to Norio Ohga, Chairman and CEO of Sony Corporation--a man who, as the McGill press release points out, controls companies "which exceed $51 million in consolidated sales worldwide." You don't suppose McGill is giving him the degree in the hopes of laying their grubby hands on some of that booty, do you? After all, he did hand out millions to the likes of Michael Jackson, Céline Dion and Mariah Carey.
