Insect >> Erreur boréale, urban-style There seems to be no explanation for the felling of 22 large trees by a construction company at the site of the Dominican Monastery on the corner of Décarie and Notre-Dame-de-Grace. When the clear-cutting (which was done without the appropriate permit) caused a public outcry, Gescor Construction, the company building condos and an underground parking lot on the spot, first claimed the trees had been sick, then said their ice storm damage had posed a public danger--even though the Dominicans spent $10,000 repairing them last year.
