Poster boy turns protestor

Mulumba Tshikuka, the communications student known as the "Concordia mascot," is cultivating a new image.

Tshikuka's face adorns the posters for the Concordia administration's Capital Campaign fundraising drive. But Tshikuka, who never gave permission to use his jolly mug, is quickly becoming the poster boy for the administration's critics.

He's been actively demonstrating against their decision to impose new fees, and a photo of him flipping the bird at his own unauthorized image recently adorned the cover of the student paper The Link. "I'd like to sue their ass," says Tshikuka, who is considering legal recourse.

October 13 to 17 is the student-organized Week of Action against student debt.
