The Front

Sleepy, grumpy and dopey: Montreal Region Minister Robert Perreault (foreground) and Mayor Pierre Bourque (rear) take a nap, while Finance Minister Bernard Landry (middle) stares blankly into space during a press conference last Monday. Perhaps not coincidentally, all three zoned out when Culture Minister Louise Beaudoin took the podium to speak. The conference was held to announce the creation of the Cité du Multimédia; following the lead of Discreet Logic, both governments want to attract more high-tech companies into the western end of Old Montreal and are offering subsidies of up to $25,000 for each new job created in the area.
