Oasis shell out

Directives from the provincial government and the Molson Centre's decision to close this week forced Brit supergroup Oasis to cancel their Jan. 14 concert. In a surprisingly respectable gesture of good will, Oasis' battling Gallagher brothers have decided to donate a certain amount of cash (we don't know how much) to the Canadian Red Cross disaster relief fund. According to promoters Fogel Sabourin, the band are said to be "disappointed" about their cancelled concert, Canada being one of their strongest non-U.K. fan-bases. Band management is presently trying to reschedule the show. Tickets are refundable at point of purchase as of Jan. 20. --Mireille Silcott
