Angel >> Contraband margarine with that golden, buttery look Corporate disobedience continues. Quebec is the only place in North America which bans margarine that looks like butter and margarine manufacturers say that's an unfair trade practice. Having given up on their lobbying efforts, margarine manufacturer Unilever Ltd. decided to airlift a shipment of contraband incognito butter to a grocery store in Lucien Bouchard's riding. Warning: margarine is just as bad for you as butter, and the Mirror endorses neither. But we sure are enjoying the fight.

Insect >> Media hacks who insist that global warming is a sham Mainstream media are awfully anxious to expose global warming as a fiction cooked up by environmentalists, though they're not solely to blame--after all, their strings are being pulled by the likes of the Fraser Institute and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. Most recently, last weekend's edition of The Globe and Mail featured a lengthy "exposé" on the topic. Look: greenhouse gas emissions fall into a larger category, something we used to call pollution. And if the nations of the world agree to cut down on said pollution, then hooray for all of us. Whether the earth's crust is heating up or not simply doesn't matter.
