Steve Earle & the Supersuckers Self-Titled Split EP (Sub Pop/ Warner)

A lotta hooch must have been swallowed for this combustible, all-together-now collaboration on the Supersuckers' "Creepy Jackalope Eye," a bar-brawling version of Earle's "Angel Is the Devil," and the Stones' "Before They Make Me Run." Though the Supersuckers have pulled this sort of two-step before (on a 1994 EP with Rev. Horton Heat) and Earle can't even buy good publicity these days, this is a 10-gallon treat of hard-drinking fun. 7.5 /10 (Lorrie Edmonds)

K-Ci & Jojo Love Always (MCA)

As one half of Jodeci, the brothers Hally seduced the urban market with overtly sexual bedroom moves. On their first full-length non-band venture, they get old-fashioned, trading booty calls for love moods. But it is refreshing to hear jams like "Don't Rush (Take Love Slowly)" and "Last Night's Letter" give romance its props. Perhaps these former two-minute brothers have discovered foreplay. 7.5/10 (Gerard Dee)
