Fables of the deconstruction

Attention all pointy-heads! French philosopher Jacques Derrida, the world's preeminent deconstruction theorist, is coming to Montreal.

Derrida will give a seminar at the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) on Tuesday, April 1 at 4 p.m. and a lecture at the Bibliothèque nationale on Wednes-day, April 2 at 7:30 p.m.

Derrida's ideas are considered exceedingly difficult to pin down--a deliberate part of his work--so those attending should come prepared for befuddlement. "He will talk for a long time, as he always does," says Alan Penning of the CCA.

Tickets remain only for the Wednesday lecture: they're free and they're going fast. Pick them up at UQAM's Pavillion Hubert-Aquin (corner St-Denis and Ste-Catherine), room A 4085, at 5 p.m. Line up early.
