CHIPPING
AWAY

Crunch crunch: Corn chips—tasty snack, right? Or a confusing anxiety dream waiting to happen? Chicagonow’s food blog takes on the weirdest Fritos and Doritos from the world over. Xmas tree-shaped, turkey-flavoured Doritos are only the beginning. The Japanese (go figure) offer Strawberry and Caramel Cheetos, and us Canucks chip in with Tandoori and “Scream Cheese” Doritos, which presumably are snacks that inspire terror. The same blog also features completely unhinged Pizza Hut menus from Japan and Poland that resemble anything but pizza, and wherein corn niblets figure prominently, at bit.ly/cps0GK.

Like: Facebook’s Like button has caused many an awkward moment (Sally misses her Grandma—can you Like that?) and lots of jokes about where’s the Dislike button. But what if, rather than expressing approval or admiration, you merely want to leave pithy commentary on the nature of life. To this end, some local kid has proposed a “Trudat” button, as in “Sally says life is rough!” Trudat or “John got a parking ticket” Trudat. Good idea? Join the FB group at bit.ly/9wuyuA.
