Crisis of choice |
By JACK OATMON
Down around the corner, the first of a series of all-nighters featuring local legend Tiga kicks off at Stereo along with the excellent Audion, master of groovy, quirky microhouse. Across the street from there, at Foufounes Électriques, the screeching furor of trashy French electroclash revivalists Kap Bambino howls wildly and tears eardrums. Further down the hill, those Night Trackin’ boys, Duvall, Seb Diamond and Phil AD, will be bringing the freshest, funkiest, most fashionable and unflappable house and techno beats to all you clever-eared young ’uns out there, along with guest Why Alex Why?, all at Velvet. Some of the same folks will also be heard after a special arty-farty eye-candy bonanza by Golden Isles and Bearmod at eXcentris on Saturday night. Make sure to drop by early and bring along a little visual arts creation of your own to display, if you have the urge. It’s been midtempo and groovy here so far, but all you tweakers, stoners, two-steppers and trippers, do not fret, no sir. At the SAT on Saturday, East London dubstep guy Sukh Knight joins a list of other dubsteppers, dancehall heads, drum & bass holdouts and bassline peoples. And finally but not forgettably, lastly but certainly noteworthy, MEC Plus Ultra is a twice-monthly off-Village gay party that goes down at Belmont this Saturday night, so Plateau homos, take note. BUT PEOPLE STILL CALL ME ASKING WHAT TO DO... |
