Friday night, one of my favourite existing funk bands in the world (who happens to be from Montreal—boom boom!), Groove Attic, will be at Jupiter Room with a simple mission in mind—to blow your minds in search of the perfect groove. Believe the hype, suckas, these guys are amazing. They’ll be playing songs from their debut, Like a Tree, and will share the bill with Ruckus Fo’Tet and Philippe Look. After that, it’s shots at the bar with Lexis and a smoke outside with SevDee as they are hosting Brooklyn, NY resident Nickodemus for the always fruitful night the Bridge at Blizzarts. Saturday night, I’ll still be grooving with Lexis but this time at la Sala Rossa for the fifth edition of Who’s Hungry, one of the city’s best one-on-one dance battles. Be ready to witness some serious moves. The next day, Redmask Crew’s 10-year anniversary celebration is going down at Urban Element (910 Jean-Talon E.) at 6 p.m. While we’re on the boogie, Unkut Productions is holding auditions for hip hop and street dancers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Studio Bizz (551 Mont-Royal E., 3rd floor), so if you think you got juice, it’s your time to prove it. I’M DA BEST MAIN, I DEED IT… |
