The Mirror

Disco Volante

Beware!

By JACK OATMON

Man of the shining mirror skull, demonic composer of howling organs and bone-crushing synth bass, Boys Noize, risen from what foul, dank German crypt we mortals dare not speculate, storms the SAT this night, Thursday, Oct. 29, and conjures a veritable symphony of clanking, thunderous thumps. So begins the hellish weekend, with but a taste of the horrors to ensue. The following eve, Friday, promises pleasures of the flesh to lure such as the sirens do. Take heed, venture to oldgoldboutique.com and peer into the News section for tell of a loft-bound séance which will disrobe succubus and soothsayer alike, hosted by some of the evil geniuses behind New Years Eve’s legendary Here Comes the Night gathering, Jonah’s Ear and Mr. Nico Stinghe, as well as Hatchmatik, Kyle Kalma and Geoff Snack. Though a frightening guise is not necessary, do dress in anticipation of wandering eyes, curious tongues and naughty digits.

On the night of heinous deeds, Saturday, Oct. 31, prepare for such sound and marvellous trickery as you’ve only experienced in nightmares. The Greek gods shall roar and smite mercilessly upon the SAT, as none other than Hercules and Love Affair alights upon the wheels of steel. A terrible choice must be made, however, as the ghost of TV stations past, CFCF, and the Mirror’s own Mark Slutsky (a most foul beast indeed) shall stalk Casa del Popolo. But before you venture to your final destination, early in the evening, beware of the squealing, eerie cacophony to be heard at Articule (262 Fairmount W.), source of a Theremin orchestra to bewilder the blackest of cats. Go forth, horrid legions, drink the blood of mortals and be merry, for this weekend we shall make the living pay in squirts of ichor for their allegiance to the light!

FEAST, MY DAMNED COLLEAGUES!
