Man bites dog

Cop and a pee

Was it an act of rebellion? Some statement against the Man? Police in Merrimack, Mass., are giving her the benefit of the doubt. Marta Marquez is in no hurry to tell them they’re wrong, and it’s Marquez alone who can say definitively if there was some ulterior motive to her dropping trou’ and peeing on the exterior wall of the Merrimack Police station.

Marquez, 28, was only at the station to accompany a friend who was dealing with a 13-year-old warrant for driving without a licence. During their time at the station, her friend had asked to use the washroom but police refused him. There’s no public washroom at the station, and the staff bathroom is off limits.

“We just don’t have time to watch people use the bathroom,” explained Capt. Michael Dudash.

After the pair left the station, Marquez was seen “urinating on the sidewalk and the building.” The police report notes that “approximately 50 feet away, the Lisa’s Tippy Toe Daycare was in session.”

Police assumed there was no underlying meaning in Marquez’s squat ’n’ squirt, but public urination violates the state’s indecency laws and Marquez was charged in accordance.
