Man bites dog

Philanderers often have great success with the simple excuse of having to work late, so it’s hard to see where improvement is needed. But when Wikler Moran-Mora decided to get a little something on the side, the old ways wouldn’t cut it. Instead, the Hillsborough County, Florida man texted his wife to let her know he’d been detained by kidnappers who were refusing to let him go until he gave them money.

When Moran-Mora’s wife got the message, she replied that she was calling the police. No need, Moran-Mora told her. The kidnappers assured him they would let him go. She chose not to wait the situation out, though, and by the time Moran-Mora texted again to let her know, “I’ll be home soon,” 20 officers and canine units were scouring the neighbourhood. Six hours later, police found Moran-Mora at a 7-11. He immediately fessed up, explaining the ruse was merely a way to spend time with another lady.

Contacted by the press, Moran-Mora would only say the issues with his wife had been resolved. The issues of his arrest for giving false reports to law enforcement officials are ongoing.
