Surely every prison has a frosh week of sorts, during which veteran inmates welcome newbs to the fold with some good-natured hijinks. But while most convicted felons can be trusted implicitly to know when to draw the line, Johnny Calhoun wound up with a couple of bad apples who not only claimed Calhoun had to have a tattoo in the Carter County, Tennessee jail, but also deceived him about what they were inking on the back of his neck. Ignoring Calhoun’s request to have his girlfriend Sheila’s name spelled out, the two instead wrote the name “Lee” beneath the image of a penis. Calhoun had no idea he was sportin’ tattooed wood until prison guards noticed the fresh work and asked about it. When Calhoun calmly explained that two guys from his cell block had done it, the guards had him gather his things, moved him to another block, and then asked Calhoun if he knew he had a penis on his neck. Calhoun is said to have become “highly upset” by the revelation. Inmates Sammy Jackson Green and Robert Shaun Hicks were placed in lock-down pending their hearing on charges of tattooing without a licence. by SCOTT SAXON |
