Friday night, New York and Puerto Rico will be represented over at Suco Lounge with the presence of nuyorican turntable legend Tony Touch providing beats for City Styles’ 20th anniversary (big up!) with a helping hand from DJ Redd Dredd and DJ Wreck. Up the street over at Blizzarts, I’ll be pouring liquor on the sidewalk for big homie Skratch Bastid, who’s leaving the city after years of loyal dancefloor services to make big moves in Toronto. Come celebrate, or mourn, his departure and wish him well in his endeavours. He’s also embarking on his summer 110% tour that will see the release of a new mixtape by the same name, so keep an eye out for that. Last but not least, the Red Bull Music Academy is on the hunt for musicians, producers, songwriters, singers and rappers to represent Montreal in the February 2010 edition of this exciting event, in which artists from around the world will be sharing their music, all under one roof. I really encourage people to participate and show the world how our city holds it down when it comes to creative new music. Info on the application process can be found at redbullmusicacademy.com but what you wanna do is hit up Scott C at fathead@videotron.ca or Jesse Walden at jesse@lookoutpresents.com.
