Damn right

PINHEAD U.

While Liberty University at least allows students to explore evolutionary theory alongside the preferred creationist curricula, they have their limits. And those limits have recently been revealed to the campus College Democrats, who have had their school recognition revoked just months after its founding.

Despite declaring LU a place to “learn and grow,” the Lynchburg, Virginia, institution founded by Rev. Jerry Falwell has taken issue with the current direction some students have chosen to grow toward. In an e-mail announcing the school’s decision, LU VP for student affairs Mark Hine told College Dems that their parent organization, the U.S. Democratic Party, deviates from LU policy and what LU considers Christian doctrine. By way of examples, Hine offered “supports abortion, promotes the LGBT agenda, Hate Crimes, which include sexual orientation, gender identity, socialism, etc.”

However, club head Brian Diaz points out, “Jesus talked about the poor more than he did about gay marriage.”

Liberty University Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. called the club’s original recognition “an oversight.” The College Republicans club has operated on campus for years, and remains unaffected.
