Countdown to K-os

Crackers, slackers and butt-smackers. How ya’ll hangin’ this week? The K-os Karma Tour is making a stop here tonight and the show is free. Say word? Say word! Every show that big homie is doing on his Canadian tour this month is gonna be gratuit, but everybody will be given the opportunity to make a Karma donation inside the venue in exchange for his companion fan-mixed album, Yes! It’s Yours. I mentioned this project a few months back in this column. Organized by the Web site indabamusic.com, it gave fans and listeners a chance to grab all the components to K-os’ album Yes! and remix or re-compose tracks online. Each voted winner for every different song got the chance to be credited on this companion album, which will be available at the show, so pick it up at Théâtre Olympia tonight if you still got your wits.

Friday night, you should follow me to le Social, where I’ll be grooving at the new People’s Choice weekly night, soundtracked by the Michael Jordan to my LeBron James, the one and only Scott C, alongside his partner Moonstarr. Funk, soul, hip hop and straight-up next shit on the menu.

Saturday night, Paris is in the house with a double event that I am authentically getting effin’ hyped about. From 7-9 p.m., Off the Hook boutique will be hosting the I Am the Band vernissage with its special guest, Clark Magazine artistic director Faker. Also, the entire new Sixpack collection that will be launched upstairs in the Pop Up boutique. After that, it’s off to Cabaret Juste pour rire, where TTC’s own Cuizinier and Orgasmic will tear it down with Genevan Heathen and homebooooy Hatchmatik.
