Candy
is dandy

Toothache: How sweet is that treat? When Marge Simpson-type parents call soda pop “liquid candy,” they’re not kidding—there’s nearly 20 cubes of sugar in that bottle of Mountain Dew (in fact, it’s not even real sugar, it’s nasty corn syrup). Even a bag of Skittles is only the equivalent of 12 cubes. Sugarstacks is a Web site that visually shows you the sugar content of your favourite snacks, by stacking cubes in front of them like some diabetes-causing art project. You’ll be shocked at the huge amount of sugar in BBQ sauce, and you’ll probably want to avoid Häagen-Dazs sorbet, which contains roughly the same amount of sugar as an entire cane field at sugarstacks.com.

Fly-by: Did you love that CG fly-over of Brooklyn between the CBC-radio-host-banging in the opening credits of Shortbus? A local ad agency did a Montreal version (minus the humping and pumping) for the Tourisme Montréal Web site and it’s even better. Spend two minutes exploring the city right from your monitor at tourisme-montreal.org/MontrealTV.
