Nerd-Heard: Fanboy.com is kind of like that geeky friend who always lets you know about that uncool cool thing right before everyone else knows about it and it ends up on Entourage/Family Guy/The Office and loses all its cachet, but also goes off on the occasional tangent about what would happen if Captain Kirk met Doctor Who, and Akira Kurosawa’s 99th birthday. But Japanese snack food and Star Wars stormtrooper cufflinks? Epic win at fanboy.com.

Wheely hungry: Imagine if your car ran on food instead of gas. What would you feed it? In other words, what menu items have the most calories per dollar? At 388 calories per dollar, Outback Steakhouse’s Aussie Cheese Fries may be the plutonium of appetizers. A single $7 serving contains 2,710 calories, which is still a lot more expensive than gasoline, at approximately 7,500 (indigestible) calories per litre. The Baskin Robbins Oreo Chocolate Shake is a close runner-up at 372 calories per dollar, so if the Chevy Volt doesn’t work out, maybe a Ford Cone will at bit.ly/caloriesperdollar.
