Smegheads: Red Dwarf has made its one-time final comeback—only is it really one-time or final? Ratings (and presumably Bittorrent downloads) will determine that, but for now, if the last time you enjoyed the adventures of Rimmer and Lister it was sponsored by Quarterstaff Games, you may need a refresher course on humanoid cats, stasis chambers and chewed-eraser-headed androids. Fortunately, no less than the Times Online is at your service with an A-Z of Red Dwarf, including S for “Smeg” and a video of every use of that ersatz expletive at bit.ly/reddwarfaz.

Pocket it: Gunaxin, the blog that calls itself “the cause of and solution to all life’s problems” (thanks Homer!) presents its list of the top 20 fictional gadgets that you wish were adorning your geekish toolbelt right at this second. Okay, some didn’t make the list (the Talkboy from Home Alone? That MiniDisc SQUID brain-recorder thing from Strange Days? That bird that makes records from The Flintstones?) but you’ll sure be in nerdlust over the ones that did at bit.ly/20gadgets.
