You betcha! |

After eight years of showing where they stand on corruption, greed, civil rights, international law and soul-selling, the Republican Party has now revealed something a little more personal. Apparently, they like their party like they like their women, or at least so say the majority of GOP voters responding to a recent Rasmussen phone survey that showed positive reviews for John McCain’s gag running mate, Sarah Palin. In results that will astound those who whole-heartedly believed Palin’s future appearances would be limited to a Saturday Night Live DVD box set, 55 per cent of affiliated voters said the success of their party lies in its ability to remold itself in Palin’s image. Slightly fewer, 51 per cent, said they saw Palin in a good light, with more than half of those viewing her as “very favourable.” Palin most recently garnered attention in her home state for announcing her support for a $2-billion project building a road to Nome, Alaska while admitting in the same speech to a budget shortfall of over a billion dollars. She hasn’t officially said she would seek the party’s nomination for the 2012 ticket, though it’s unlikely that her narcissism would steer her away from the limelight and tight, designer blouses. by SCOTT SAXON |
