Stack ’em: Magnetic Towers is one of those ridiculously addictive games that, when you first start playing, you can’t lose—until it gets progressively harder and you can’t win, and you end up eating your MacBook in a fit of rage, much to the shock of everyone else at Starbucks. Yup. It’s good. Stick all the magnets of one colour together, avoid the other colours, and don’t run out of time. And don’t start playing if you plan to get any work done at bit.ly/magtowers.
Fight night: This ain’t your daddy’s Street Fighter 2—his was better. But this version is definitely weirder. Created by Canadian Patrick Boivin, this may be the first YouTube video game. Created by stop-motion photography of action figures, the game kind of plays like Dragon’s Lair—choose your path, and the video plays. Click too late, and you’re toast. You play as Guile, and take on up to three opponents in glorious semi-interactivity at bit.ly/sf2.
