Blancmange: What do white people like? Good question—and beyond the snobby (CBC Radio, Starbucks) and the snotty (Larry the Cable Guy, NASCAR) is the fairly insightful (unpaid internships, musical comedy) courtesy of Stuff White People Like, a blog-turned-book that is as close as you can get to celebrating white culture without attracting the brown-shirt-and-fertilizer-bomb crowd. So far, there are things that white people like, include the rapper Mos Def, Judeo-comedienne Sarah Silverman, sushi and for some reason, ’80s nights. Based on this evidence, white people seem open-minded, but would you let your sister marry one at stuffwhitepeoplelike.com. Koffee klick: Dark Roasted Blend seems to be another one of those blogs that presents lists of wild and wacky things (10 funniest cheerleader accidents, world’s most famous farts) but when you get into it, you realize, hey, this stuff is pretty funny and interesting. So next time you need a five-minute coffee break in front of your screen, pour yourself a cup of www.darkroastedblend.com. Comments? mikecitrome@yahoo.com |
