All your base: Does your accountant moonlight as a cross-dressing dominatrix? Or maybe the cool edgy political blogger you just met is also the webmaster of the world’s leading repository of Battlestar Galactica erotica fan-fiction? How would you find out? Well, yougetsignal is kind of a reverse-lookup for Web sites. Type in a Web site and it will tell you what other domain names are hosted on the same server. It’s not a guarantee that they belong to the same person, but it’s certainly a great snooping aid. You can also geolocate phone numbers and web servers using Google Maps at www.yougetsignal.com.

Toys in the attic: The Government Attic is a collection of documents from the American government requested under the Freedom of Information act, beloved by UFO nuts and 9/11 conspiracy theorists, and predictably there’s lots of that here. But there’re also FCC complaints about Family Guy and Jerry Springer by people who are clueless/humorless/insane, and Army reports on development of gas masks for dogs and horses at www.governmentattic.org.
