Saucy: Slice, a blog devoted to that ubiquitous junk food that has filled many a low-budget stomach—pizza. Although popular in its more recherché gourmet forms, common knowledge is that pizza is like sex: even when it’s bad, it’s good. Slice chronicles regional styles of pizza, from deep-dish Chicago to floppy-and-greasy NYC to lesser-known specialties like the “Cheez Whiz on a cracker” St. Louis-style pie. There’re also pizzeria reviews and technological advances, like how to order pizza from AppleTV, kimchi-pizza recipes from Korea and dubious stove-top brick ovens from Japan at slice.seriouseats.com.

Electric Avenue: This 16-year-old kid did something the big auto companies can’t (or won’t) do—he built a functional, daily driveable, fully electric car. In fact, he built two of them, in his spare time. The first is a converted ’80s-era Mazda pick-up, which does 50 mph with a 40-mile range. The second is a 1992 Toyota Tercel, which, when it’s ready, will perform at least as well as a stock Tercel. Watch your back, kid at greenflightev.blogspot.com.
