A point for secular TV

It’s the sort of debate-ending move one could expect of the hell-bound Christopher Hitchens were he pushed one tequila slammer over the line. While catching some breakfast entertainment on television with a neighbour, a 66-year-old woman found herself on the business end of a knife for changing the channel to some religious programming. Seattle, Washington, police say the dispute began when their perp, a woman in her late 50s or early 60s, voiced disapproval after her until-then friend made the egregious error while the two relaxed in front of the TV in the assisted living complex they call home. An argument broke out and, while the victim was busy turning the other cheek, the accused assailant grabbed a six-inch kitchen knife and plunged it into the other woman’s abdomen. “I don’t know what they were originally watching,” offered Seattle police spokesperson Renee Witt. “But it must’ve been something really good.” The victim was rushed to hospital with a life-threatening wound. The other woman was arrested for assault. by Scott Saxon |
