Fantastic plastic

Shalom, bitch: The latest video from local indie-Podcast-filmmakers Galacticast is like an episode of an ultra-low-budget Thunderbirds/Power Rangers knock-off filtered through the hazy, sesame-seed-speckled lens of a too-long day at Hebrew school. RoboJew vs. Giant Nazi Woman of the SS is a five-minute epic of Kaiju-sized, leggy, blonde Aryan dominatrixes, flying Hitler brains and multicultural, cybernetic, Rabbinical superheroes. How many Podcasts can make that claim? Not enough, apparently, judging from www.galacticast.com.

Playtime: If you like your giant monsters a little more pocket-sized (and who among us doesn’t), check out the camiondepompier blog presented by the local art-toy boutique of the same name. Get a heads-up on the latest toy releases and an inside view of what it’s like to be a one-man operation satisfying an entire metropolis’s cravings for designer vinyl and plush. Don’t expect any actual fire trucks, though, there aren’t any at camiondepompier.wordpress.com.
