Damn right

More attacks please

While the White House spin doctors can’t seem to figure out a way to get the American people on board the Bush approval love train, newly appointed Arkansas Republican Party chairman Dennis Milligan used his very first interview in said capacity to offer a sound solution. Milligan’s suggestion still raises eyebrows. What Americans need to help them appreciate their current president, he said, are more 9/11-style attacks on U.S. soil.

Declaring himself to be “150 per cent” in support of Bush’s botched Iraq operations, Milligan told an Arkansas newspaper reporter that he thinks “all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on 9/11 and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate” the president’s efforts

Until being named chairman, Milligan was relatively unknown in the Arkansas politics game. Now he’s jumped headlong into anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage rhetoric, with odd domestic terrorism scenarios mixed into the broth. One thing Milligan had no opinion on was Bush’s latest immigration bill, saying that it’s “something for probably smarter people than me to figure out.”
