Man bites dog

Man bites man!

For all those still looking to blame the pooches in the ongoing debate on so-called dangerous dogs, a man in Lisbon, Portugal has stepped up to offer a bit of evidence as to where the real problem is.

With a crackdown on the much-maligned pit bull taking effect in Portugal, Lisbon police approached a man for having the audacity to let his walk around without a leash and muzzle. In response, the man told the two officers that he’d have his pitty attack them. Unfortunately, the pit bull—often depicted as second only to terrorists in their bloodlust—had other plans. The dog trotted off, leaving the 35-year-old man without the means to make good on his threats. And so the man attacked police himself, biting one of them on the wrist before being restrained. The other officer broke a finger in the altercation.

The dog owner was placed under house arrest for his stupidity. Police are still looking for the pit bull.
