Big girls and boys

Under the tree: It’s funny. Go back about 15 or 20 years, and toys were a big deal. He-Man, Transformers, Hot Wheels. Okay, they’re still a big deal, just not with kids. While the young’uns are busy with their fancy 3D Nintendo, it’s a bunch of socially-awkward guys in ironic t-shirts who are buying all the toys—for themselves. If you find yourself nostalgia-afflicted this holiday season, check out the Virtual Toy Chest. It’s like all the Consumers Distributing catalogues your parents threw away, but on the Interweb at www.virtualtoychest.com/navigation/navigation.html.

Under the influence: Don’t worry, cool people, fashionistas and metrosexuals, we’ve got something for you too. Photographer Nico Stinghe’s anothersidewalk promises “a poem to be worn”—that apparently means sexy dames and plenty of ’em, but mostly of the icy and fey variety. This could well be viral marketing for American Apparel, but hey, everybody likes scantily-clad ladies with tiaras and magic wands. NSFW at www.anothersidewalk.tv.
