DON’T BUY UGG BOOTS! And other important winter fashion tips by CHLOE ROUBERT This winter’s delayed arrival is a great opportunity to ponder what to wear to survive this year’s stock of slush, wind, salt, ice and snow—and still look über-trendy. But before you run out to replace last year’s salt-stained pink pastel UGG boots with the same pink pastel UGG boots, the Mirror is here to orient your style in the right direction. Winter 2007 for girls is all about showing as much leg as you can. Be warned, however, Madonna’s pole dancing hit of the summer is over: pink nylon, green lamé and other ’80s glitter is out, while black, grey, navy, mustard or even white leggings (but please cover up your crotch) are in. In other exciting news, boys and girls will share skinny black jeans, clean-cut cardigans, aviator coats and big Sorel boots. Fairly classical patterns like plaids and tweeds will look great for your urban outings, while exciting whimsical prints should do the trick on the slopes. Finally, boys, the moustache is out. I know it’s sad, but on the bright side, only your nose hair will freeze.
