I really hope there is a god. And I really hope this bastard is getting what he deserves. Like everyone else, I am really angry about what this guy did. It was so selfish. We ALL get bullied in school, we all get dealt a lot of crap during our lives, but that is no reason to destroy other peoples’ lives who were most likely good people.

It’s really quite sad that so many people feel as if they are outcasts in society, I mean, I feel as if maybe I don’t “fit in” but I don’t really care about that. I'm happy with myself. In the end, this is about a guy who hated himself. People could have treated him like a king and he still would have went on his rampage.

I really hope people who feel like this guy did look at this and learn something. I really hope they realize that this isn’t acceptable. I don’t know, so much of this makes no sense to me.

I don’t think we should in turn cause more hate towards people because of what this guy did. Just because people dress in black and have piercings does not make them a bad person, however I think these same people who claim they hate mainstream and “jocks” and such need to take a close look at themselves and realize that they are conforming even more than the people they hate are.

Finally, I hate to say it, but this website has not been free of this in the past. In the spring, a girl from this site and her boyfriend killed the girl’s entire family. They were both members of this site.

Please, support one another in this time of horror, and to those feeling so upset and violent. GET HELP. Don’t blame society for the problems you have with yourself.

This was a tragedy, no one can deny that. People are dead, many others are injured, while hundreds more will be traumatized for years to come. There is no justification for what he did. Although it is natural to place blame on parents, or society, it must be recognized that the blame lies solely with Kimveer Gill.

We’ll never know what made him want to die or why he chose to bring others down with him. A lot of suicidal people are desperate to die but too afraid to do it to themselves. Please don’t judge this guy for his lifestyle. Plenty of people are goths and don’t shoot up schools. Two people died, one senselessly and one by police to protect other people. Kimveer was obviously misguided, disturbed and afraid, and possibly drunk, and even though what he did was completely insane and hurt many people, I hope they will see his death as a tragedy too.

This is one of the results of the highly individualistic and materialistic society we are living in; such or similar acts are sure to happen more and more often in the future if nothing is done. We must not perceive this as an isolated act, but as an opportunity to question ourselves, each one of us on how can we help to prevent the society to produce such people to think, live, feel and act the way he did. This said, I think we shall not judge this person, but try to understand what has brought him to be in this state of mind, because it surely may have happened to anyone of us, being put in the conditions he was put in (family, friends, neighborhood, school…). He was a human being just like us all… Heaven is also open to murderers.

Hi, I am from Montreal too. This is a very hard time and god bless all victims and people involded in this tragic incident.

After reading his journal—I went through the whole thing—I can assure you this guy was no serial-psychopathic killer. This was a hate crime and it was not RANDOM. He did target Dawson because of its preppy reputation. I have been working in the disability field and I have dealt with people that were very sick mentally. This guy did not show signs of histrionic personality like most pathological killers do. This guy was emotionally imbalanced—probably Bipolar type 1 or 2. He had strong resent over the “jocks” and the preppy snobish mainstream. I’m guessing this guy was suffering a great deal and he probably was bullied a lot in his younger age. My opinion is that this was not a random crime—he had targeted Dawson for specific reasons.
