It’s really hard to believe that the cream of the crop of the Stones Throw Records roster is going on the road in numbers to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Even harder to believe is that they’re all coming to Montreal for something that resembles the old Ninja Tune family jams from back in the day. The Chrome Children Tour will set up shop at le National on Oct. 31, Halloween night, and will feature Madlib, Peanut Butter Wolf, J Rocc and Percee P, with possible appearances by Declaime, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Roc C. Stones Throw and Adult Swim have teamed up once again for the release of the accompanying CD/DVD available Oct. 3 at fine record stores everywhere, so make sure you cop it. The $25 tickets are on sale now.

DJ Manifest dropped by Kunta Lounge last Wednesday night where me and DJ 7D do C&D Music Factory every week, and he was packing a copy of the new Frenchi Blanco LP Haute Surveillance on FP International/DEP. Lucky for 7D, the copy was for him, but from what I heard, this shit is serious. Featuring production from DJ Blast, Manifest, 7D, 1Man and S. Malone, as well as performances from FP Crew, Kulcha Connention and the Wu-Tang Clan’s Inspectah Deck, Frenchi has introduced his solo work in a big way. The album is in stores now, but check out www.frenchiblanco.com for more info.

Baltimore club music bad boys Armani XXXchange & MC Spank Rock make the royal return to one of their most beloved cities when they do a show at Club Soda on Thursday, Oct. 5 with the unstoppable Teki Latex, Tido Berman and Cuizinier of TTC. Those two crews together are enough to have one crazy-mental party, but when you throw our own boys Omnikrom into the mix, then it’s time to call the police. As part of Pop Montreal, this ridonkulous team-up just might go down in Montreal concert history, so don’t sleep.

Two days later on Oct. 7, the unpredictable stage antics of the one and only Kool Keith take the stage at les Saints. Although I’m not really feeling the new record, The Return of Dr. Octagon, I will never forget what happened the last time the sexually deviant Doctor graced the stage at Club Soda a few years back. Definitely a night to remember.

I should probably tell you that to cop FREE tickets to the Ge-ology, Low Budget, Benji B and Team Canada show on Sept. 28 at Cabaret, you need to RSVP montrealsoul@triple5soul.com before Wednesday, Sept. 27, and they’ll direct you to picking up your comps. Not too shabby...

7 reasons I should take a vacation every 2 weeks...

3. Outkast “Makes No Sense at All” (Laface)
