Man bites dog

Revenge
served sour

Another old adage appended: Revenge is a dish best served cold—and delivered to the correct address. Stephen R. Weidman of Bradenton, Florida, might be passing that along to his grandchildren someday. The 21-year-old recently learned it the hard way after his attempt to get even went quite wrong.

Weidman told police that, after a recent robbery, he was looking to hand the thief some just desserts. With socks covering his hands and a homemade ski-mask over his head, Weidman armed himself with a BB gun and attempted to kick in the door of the person he suspected. He soon realised four things, in rapid succession. First, the door was too solid for him to kick in. Second, the guys who opened the door to see who was kicking it weren’t who he’d expected to find. Third, he had the wrong house altogether and, fourth, its occupants were handing him a pretty good beating.

Stripped of his BB gun and pride, the two men held Weidman until police arrived. He’s being held on home invasion-related charges.
