Man bites dog

Grilled drunk

Ah, the summer barbecue: America’s long-proud tradition and as much a part of their culture as apple pie and bigotry. And at Meadowbrook Acres Trailer Park, in Magnolia, Delaware, one man sought to take that tradition to a new level of achievement. Unfortunately, the wieners never hit the grill because the man, thinking he had a good plan to get his coals a-burnin’, tried to start his fire by holding a match to a pile of gunpowder.

Though Delaware fire officials are conducting an investigation into the event, they don’t expect to reveal much beyond what they already know: a man in a trailer park was dumb enough to attempt to barbecue using black gunpowder as kindling. The fire quickly burned itself out after dealing up some singed hair and first-and third-degree burns to the man’s face and hand. Authorities believe the man was intoxicated when he got his bright idea.
