Know your indie: For those who believe the ’80s music retro craze has become too passé (and Thomas Dolby was, in fact, not a genius) then a group of South London music lovers have created a Web site for you. Although Play/Pause promotes ’90s music concerts in London, anyone who loves Radiohead and the like can take their music recognition test. The test plays the intros to 30 “indie” tracks, and listeners have to give the correct artists and song name. Viva the upcoming ’90s retro-craze at www.worldsbiggestfan.com/playpause/index.shtml.

That was sooo fake: Everyone has that annoying friend who ruins every film by debating the realism of the action scenes. These uncreative, mood-killing grouches congregate at one Web site called Insultingly Stupid Movie Physics, devoted to denigrating flashing bullets, flaming cars and other eye-rolling movie clichés. Hollywood’s worst offender? That would be 2003’s hole-drilling fiasco known as The Core. Poo-pooing overactive imaginations happens at www.intuitor.com/moviephysics/.
